Hi, I’m Lori Trost, a licensed professional counselor in Columbus, Ohio. Are you feeling overwhelmed and unsure of why? Do you crave a nonjudgmental space filled with care and compassion? I am passionately dedicated to supporting women who truly deserve respect as they navigate the stormy seas of life’s challenges. In our fast-paced world, so many women juggle countless responsibilities, often sacrificing their own well-being in the process. If you feel utterly exhausted from the effort of holding it all together and yearn for a safe haven, I offer a warm and welcoming environment for those who long for support yet often struggle to find it. Together, within this nurturing space, we can delve deep into your feelings and craft empowering strategies to cope with stress and anxiety. With my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from James Madison University and my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary, I am equipped with the knowledge and skills to provide you with the guidance you truly deserve. Let’s embark on this transformative journey together, prioritizing your mental health and well-being.
I am passionate about serving young adults to middle-aged individuals, as I believe that this stage of life is filled with unique challenges and opportunities for growth. I have experience supporting individuals who are navigating the difficult waters of complex trauma, PTSD, women’s issues, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, and various challenges in ministry. Throughout my journey, I have witnessed the profound strength that lies within each person and how transformative healing can be. My faith background is rooted in a belief in Jesus, which provides me with a deep sense of purpose and compassion; however, I strive to offer a nonjudgemental space that welcomes all backgrounds and beliefs. I understand that everyone’s experiences and perspectives are valid, and I am committed to fostering an environment where individuals can feel safe to share their stories and explore their paths to healing and fulfillment.
As a mom of three teen daughters who has moved multiple times over the past decade, I deeply understand the challenges of grieving losses, navigating uncertainty, and starting over in a new place. Each relocation has brought its own unique set of hurdles, from saying goodbye to familiar faces and places to adapting to new environments and schools.
I’ve experienced firsthand the healing process after trauma and know how crucial safety and support are for true recovery. This journey often involves a complex interplay of emotions, as one learns to navigate the lingering effects of past experiences, which can resurface unexpectedly. It requires not only internal strength but also the presence of trusted individuals who can provide empathy and understanding. Creating a safe environment—both physically and emotionally—serves as a foundation for rebuilding one’s sense of self and fostering resilience that ultimately paves the way for personal transformation and growth.
